I brought one from pound land and it didn't charge. What charge I had in my phone it just drained the battery.

You have to be careful just make sure its safety checked for the uk some dodgy Chinese ones can go bang or worse.

I remember seeing this on tv how a fake charger caused a death as it set fire to bed.

Prob the same program I watched but it was from market stalls I think all the same best be safe.
