I used to have this as a kids does anyone make them recently, if so what Jar do you use?

As I don't seem to be able to find a Rumtopf jar around. Can you use a pickle jar or sealable jars.

Somewhere in North Norfolk

You can still get them in Germany but they don't seem to be available over here any longer.

It needs to be kept sealed and dark hence why the german ones are made of pot or earthenware.

So a glass jar really isn't the answer

I have had a look on there, just curious if I can use an alternative.

I'd expect you'd get better results with the traditional pot made for the purpose.

My nan used to use an earthenware flowerpot with the hole at the bottom sealed and a plate on top. Don't remember what she sealed it with though, it was 30 years ago!
