"Set up" He's an actor who happens to look tough. And don't forget that Rebecca Brooks, everyone's favourite tabloid editor, once beat him up.

"10 inches up him, he would whimper like the best of them... Not all of us ![]() ![]() I agree i think it was made secure and no harm would come to him but even so if you saw it there where some hair rasing moments and i personally would be shit scared with two armed blokes aiming at me and several others with large machetes !! ![]()

"As an investigative journalist ( I think it's safe to call him that now, rather than "just and actor" ), I find him endearing, honest and factual. Couple this with the places he typically goes to, where the repressed and misunderstood are treated appallingly, he faces with real empathy. Some of the things he has seen, the victims and the perpertrators, take real courage, whilst highlighting the "dark" side of the human condition and bringing difficult issues to our screens. " +1 this ![]()

"The man's ex para. Did quite well while he was in as well. I'd say he's more than capable of handling himself." I did wonder if he had been in the army etc ?? Is that fact he is an ex para ??

"The man's ex para. Did quite well while he was in as well. I'd say he's more than capable of handling himself." That appears to be a myth. Anyway, no amount of being ex anything will protect you from a bullet. He's just a fat, baldy guy who shagged Dot Cotton.

"Watched Ross Kemp Extreme World last night, he was in Papa New guinea. To say violence is prevalent there is an understatement !! However there was a scene where he went to meet someone called the general who basically ran a vast amount of area. At one point two guys came out with guns pointing at Ross and threatening him, Ross stood his ground and even asked one where his round was in the gun ! He then turned on the other and faced him down saying " your gonna shoot me are you ? " My question is was this a set up or was Ross being amazingly brave in their facedown ?? Im torn to be honest if it was genuine i would say he was massively brave to face them down ! It was a pretty harrowing programme and the poor lady at the end the end who had been tortured was just horrific ![]() Its the one and only programme of that series that I have watched - I didnt think the 'stick up' was that convincing but I agree with what you say about the rest of the programme. What a sad, sad place it was and the inter_iew with the woman that had been tortured was truly horrific ![]()

"Ross was inter_iewed on the One Show and they questioned him regarding this new series. He told them that only the cameraman, himself and the guide were there. Was told before hand that if they are made to kneel down he would of been taken off, raped and torchered. So have to stand the ground. As for the other series of being in Afghan, he became the spokesman for the guys, he said what they knew they couldn't say. He carried his own kit, went through the same hell, and was there when a friend of mine was killed. On meeting Ross in London sometime after the funeral I told him he had gained the respect of the serving forces as well the veterans, and as I told him about my friends funeral his tears began to fall. His words to me were " I am just an actor who is abe to bring the world closer to people that have no knowledge of situations". My return reply was, you started off as an actor, but you could choose not to put yourself in harms way and stay in the "safe" zones. He then said, but that wouldn't be the full truth. So after a delightful hug and kiss on cheek and a lovely photo taken of us, we parted." Sounds so sweet, he is just an actor to bring illusion in peoples eyes. Ad for the one show that's just repeating the same nonsense in the guise of a talk show.

"I'd go where he goes for the money he's getting paid... Lots of journalists put themselves in danger to report, it doesn't make them hard. Boxers are hard. Brave, to an extent, even with security things can go wrong in a foreign country, but no braver than the likes of John Simpson or Kate Adie. " Or those that live there all the time, makes me puke of this celebrity worship but fogetting everyone around it

Look at America, most of their programs similar to Ross Kemp's are setup situations to up the entertainment value. We Brits tend to keep them realistic unless it's Bear Grylls.

"I think the question should be - "is Ross Kemp a good actor or not?" Obviously from the above posts, to some he is, because they believe he's convincing in his shows. But that's all they are. TV shows, for entertainment, and he's an actor playing a role. I've seen him play Eddie Scrooge in another show, and he was quite good in that too, but I never believed he really was Eddie Scrooge." I wouldn't exactly call his shows entertainment, unless you get off on watching how people less fortunate live, they're informative rather than entertaining, he's presenting you with information not acting in a soap.

"I think people who believe it to be all staged and fake....are very naïve and deluded. Did his camera man who was shot at in Helmand Province think them bullets where fake? Did the sex trafficker who he met, who was jailed for 11 years in this country, stand up and shout " hang on, i'm only an actor" !! Just because the bloke started out as an actor, don't mean he cant be good at doing anything else. Just google his documentaries and you will see there are no actors in Extreme World "Hello, Ross Kemp here....is that the Papa New Guinea casting agency?" ![]() ![]() On the contrary - if you believe it isn't staged, you probably believe that 'An Idiot Abroad' isn't staged either; - delusional!!

Usually though with programs like his they are heavily edited for maximum drama for the _iewers.
