Is it? And what's the true definition? Discuss (remember that I am only playing devils advocate)

By the numbers, no it isn't if normal means majority we did some calculations ages ago people on here against population of various areas swingers are less than 1% so even if some are not clever enough to be on fab it is still a minority pastime.

Is it natural? Very different question

its normal for me. I'm glad I ventured out into the swinging world two years ago.

Its not normal to a lot of people tho and usually very frowned upon.

of course it aint normal otherwise everyone would be doing it, and there would be dark dingy little corners of the internet with sites dedicated to people that are happy being in monogamous relationships lol.

and, you think of a definition of swinging, as i have been trying to since we started, and by christ it certainly aint a one size fits all type hobby

I think a lot of people would like to but never do for one reason or another.

I(female) like the freedom of swinging, the freedom to be me and enjoy life! We have great fun!

What is normal? Swinging definitely isn't what the status who find acceptable or in many cases understand, however in nature it's rare that sex is strictly with one partner. So in that sense swinging is following natures instinct.

Plus at times it's great fun lol

Its normal to those in the lifestyle however I would consider it not to be normal to those outside of it. I consider myself to be a semi normal person...

Swinging is not normal because it is not "standard" behaviour. But who wants to be "normal"?

Many studies have shown swingers are happier than the general population as a result of their lifestyle. They also, in the main, love their partners more.

A narrow definition is "non-monogomus couple relationship" but this site is full of "single" men who just hunting pussy. So if those are swingers, and not just opportunists, the definition must fall wider.

"i think it is natural .. when our ancestors lived communally who is to say multi partner cohabiting wasnt the norm"

There is a lot of research to suggest that this was the case... To be honest one on one relationships came in mostly with religion x I don't believe we are designed to be monogamous.... But that's just my views

It would probably fall into the +-3 SD, so would therefore be considered abnormal!

Of course it's not 'normal'. To the majority of the outside world, we're freaks. Don't believe me? Go announce it to everyone next time you're on the school run!

Most on mine know... A few judge but most envy my freedom. It is not considered normal but doesn't mean it isn't ... Orgies were quite the rage in many ancient cultures

'Many studies have shown...'

How much evidence do you need?

Even if it were true though, it would still be wholly fucking irrelevant in answering the original question!

"my definition

after several years research and practise."

I think you are onto something there, at the end of the day we all get off on getting off, so to that end its self gratification for mutual benefit....

Normal is just a point of view, as is good/bad etc. All just a perception.

I find on the whole swingers are the most honest open and easy to get on with people out there. When the clothes and inhibitions come off, the social barriers that conditioning has placed come down and we are all just being ourselves instead of trying to conform to the ideals of others.

Personally i couldnt give a toss about what others think and i find that feeling quite liberating.

swinging whether from side to side or back and forward is not normal in normal situations but can be caused by activities such as rowing.cycling or over use of illicit substances...if none of these apply go to your nearest doctor....in some rare cases a gang bang is required.

i agree..its my mind to mind and if they mind my mind well they dont mind my mind as much as me .if they minded then they shouldn't because theyshould mind their own mind.i know in my mind my mind isn't like their mind but i dont mind so why should they mind about my mind when their mindset should be minding more about minding their mind..either way i dont mind so why should they mind about my mind.
