I find it easier to wink a profile I like rather than send the first message as I dont no what to write, alot of people think its rude. What does everyone else think?

I like winks. When I wink its just to let people know I noticed them and I like what I see but I'm not really expecting a message. As for what to say in a first message, respectful compliments are nice and mentioning something that would let them know you view more of their profile then just the pictures.

Somewhere in North Norfolk

I don't mind being winked. If the person winking doesn't match what I'm looking for then I ignore it. I might wink back if I like the look of the person, or I might message.

A good message is a better way to get my attention though. I have to be impressed with the photos and the profile of the person winking to respond.

Its not really that successful for getting a guy a meet chatting to people. In general people see it as a harf hearted way of getting attention. How many meets has it got you? Are you happy with the number of meets you get? As for being rude? Well its not really is it its just easy to do and just as easy to ignore.

I think its a good function as often you find nothing inspiring in the profile to think about a personalised first message. People expect you to send something that would stand out of the crowd when you know nothing about them yet! All you can see in their profiles is RULES and RANT if its not I'LL FILL THIS LATER that has been ther for months. I had many good first messages where I made a good effort ignored or deleted.

Although many get offended for being winked. I think a wink is a good way to save both party's time and effort. Saves the girls keep their inbox mabageable and wink back or even message those who winked and are interested to. No rad feelings.

I take a wink as meaning ...just letting you know I like your profile but not interested in meeting you

I guess people have differing meanings for them. I've had a couple of good meets from winks but I've also messaged someone after they winked at me and they deleted my message without reply. Its no great hassle, delete a wink if not interested, message if I am.

I don't mind winks. I don't message after receiving them because have had no reply either. Sometimes I wink back or send one myself. My inbox is easy to manage as it's usually empty

I fond winks are good and they make the beginning conversation easier.

Quite often it's they wink us, we wink them, Oh hi there thanks for the wink back how are you etc etc

We rarely look at winks so I guess in our view they are pointless.

Clacton on sea, Essex

We use a wink as breaking the ice & letting people know we fancy them, most of the time it works & if it don't then obviously they don't feel the same.
