A guy I met in Real Life a year ago wants to meet up again. I've put a cakey 2 stone on since the last time I saw him.

Should I tell him? Or should I just meet him and watch his face go

Meet him. Let him have his cake and eat it.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I don't tell Real Life people that I have gained weight, I only do that with meets on here. Just meet if you want to meet him and enjoy yourself.

If you've met before, it's your fabulous personality he wants to meet again, as well as your gorgeous self! Don't say a word, but definitely meet him!

Updates please

Not noticing your new hair-do is world away from not noticing 2 stone in weight gain.

Aww bless you!

He only wants to meet up because he's having no luck elsewhere. Haven't heard from him since last spring.

It amuses me greatly that he thinks I'd be up for it. Might wear my ugliest cardi and invite him round.

Titz Towers, North Notts

You are you and your personality is a far bigger selling point than anything else. Meet him and see what happens.

That is funny. I always get asked if I have lost weight (by men and women) as people remember me fatter.

Cracks me up when they crawl out from the woodwork again... I never keep an ex's number when it's done but never ceases to amaze me the random texts I get 6 months later. Move on, there's always better around the corner xx

Haha! Don't do that! The last time I was deliberately disinterested and offish with a man, it was like a red rag to a bull - think he saw me as a challenge after that!

just be yourself and enjoy the time. A little bit of effort in appearance wouldn't go amiss. I'm sure that would be more noticeable than extra weight. I'd think most men would be more relaxed with a 'happy' woman .

it is only two stone so it does not matter at all to me. But no harm in giving him a head up first then if he run off you know he not worth it.

If an old friend I hadn't seen in a while asked me to meet, I wouldn't tell them i was bigger, smaller, blonder etc. I don't need to explain anything to anyone.

Granted I wouldn't be meeting men for romance, but my _iew would be the same . If the person is interested they will ask for another date, if they don't well that's it

It's definitely not romance. Just a fumble.

Tell him that you've joined an amateur dramatics group and had to put weight on for a role you were playing

My thoughts seem to be at odds with everyone else

This is for me personally.. I'd tell them. In fact I have a long distance friend I've just reconnected with who is full of the joys because he's lost weight and he looks amazing. I didn't send a pic back but explained I'd probably put his weight loss back on me !!

Dunno .. I think it saves the immediate look of "wow you've changed". If you've met before and he knows what you looked like then, isn't it better to say "hey I'm a bit ****%%}~~ " different now.

I'd personally feel nervous turning up looking different and not fore warning but that might just be me and my insecurities.

Either way OP good luck and I'm sure you'll have a blast x
