So last night i had the most weirdest experience ever and it was pretty scary !

My eyes started to feel funny and i could see what i can only describe as a sort of kaleidascope wave of light that grew bigger over a period of 15 mins. I could not see it directly but if i stared at one point it was quite strong.

It got bigger and bigger and i felt very disorientated, it scared the crap out of me and was close to calling an ambulance !!

I called my lovely lady and she said it was a migraine aura, i didnt have a headache though ? I do have a bit of a headache this morning but wondered if anyone else had suffered this ? Very strange and scary just glad its passed now !!

I sometimes get the aura without the headache.

Your call but I think your Dr might be the better person to ask if you're concerned

Yes this had happened to me once, I was pregnant at the time and was also very close to ringing 999!

Scary stuff but it passed and never happened again

Beta blockers can have a beneficial effect on migraines as can oxygen (if you suffered cluster headaches you will know that the best treatment is an oxygen tank and mask). Also try massaging the bridge of your nose between your eyes, it helps to reduce pressure in the ocular nerves and muscles. Drink plenty of water and try to avoid opioid pain killers such as co-codamol.

I get these all the time and have done since I was in my teens. sometimes they will be followed my a migraine attack, sometimes not depending on how quickly I can get to the painkillers. It can be very scary though especially the first time.
