Who decides / budgets the amount of money you can win on a quiz show?

Some really popular shows like Pointless or Eggheads get paltry amounts whereas this new show Reflex show on Saturday night you get 20 grand!! That was the development budget for the last tv show I worked on!! It's like Vauxhall Conference vs the Premier League!!

What's worse is the actual cost and development that gets wasted on this kind of crap. Seeing who can throw paint at a window the fastest?? This is where my licence fee goes????

i think its because they've developed high tech slow motion 3d high def cameras and needed a program to showcase them
