I have one, that came with my new car. never bought any tapes or records or c'd's.

I have 250-300 and have done the same as you. Took a bloody age to transfer them all over to the iTunes. I do like having a cd collection though.

Over 500 CD's and 260 odd Vinyl most of which have been copied onto Hard Drives

I haven't bought cd's for over three years, they are now in storage, like my vinyl, about 2 and a half thousand of them.....that's after a cull too!

All my music is now on hard drive.

Transferred all my vinal and CDs years ago, have continued to buy on cd, I like the booklets that come with them, but once read and uploaded they go in the attic. Don't know how many but iTunes says it will take 48 days to play all tracks, so a lot I haven't listened to in ages.

there is software that will separate mp3's into tracks mostly successfully

I have moved so many times my records and around 20 pair of shoes got lost during one move and can only think they landed up on a landfill site about 15 year ago I could of wept!! X
