Mum has just got a new computer with Windows 8, she has some photos on a cd that she wants to save to the computer but we can't work out how!

Click on the folder the pictures are in.

Select all and copy. Open up the picture folder onto the laptop.

Right click and it will bring up options to paste, click paste and they will save x

My Windows 8 computer doesn't have a CD drive. I got someone else to transfer my pictures through an external drive.

There is a pictures box on the multi-coloured start up screen so maybe look in there and call up the help screen?

Like Liketysplits says, ask a friend to transfer it from CD to a USB memory stick.

You might be able to do it on one of the Boots photo machines as they take CD and USB
