I can understand how a film can leave a mark on a person and maybe change the way they think about the world around them, but.......do have to ask how the films 'Back to the Future' and 'Predator' can shape how you are today?

Saying that I do see how some of the films mentioned by others in this thread may have left a mark on them...

Back to the Future opened up my imagination, I was only in my early teens when this came out and Predator shows (although in Hollywood glory), that even when the odds are massively stacked against you, you can still kill the Alien

Jason and the Argonauts, King Kong, and any of those stop motion effects films from before the 70s/80s. I did an animation degree a few years ago because they amazed me as a kid, and they fuelled my interest in special effects.

Should also mention True Anal Stories 4

Recently watched 2012, stunning how technology has advanced in CGI now, mind blowing.

little house on the praire

Books have influenced my life but not films. Except for grease when rizzo sings "there are worse things i can do" . That song put my life at 14 into perspetive. Books that have influenced me have been celistine prophecy, 11 minutes and veronica decides to die

Barbarella - required wanking fodder for all 14y/o boys, character building stuff is that film!!

Ferris Beuller's Day Off - Classic 'stick it to the teacher' teen movie.

Shawshank Redemption - beating the system is always a real pleasure, even if it did take him 20 years.

2001: A Space Oddysey, a groundbreaking film without which none of the later 'space' films (Star Wars, Event Horizon etc) would have been anywhere near as good.
