"Was flicking through the tv channels on friday night and watched a piece on new extreme fitness classes which was on Newsnight. It showed 4 different classes..... 1. Hydrocycling.....an exercise bike class with a twist, where the bike and the lower half of your body is submerged in water, you burn many more calories than during a normal exercise bike class, as resistance in the water is twice as much as normal. 2. Vikings and Valkyries....now to me this looked like something taken from worlds strongest man competition, big blokes flipping tractor tyres and lifting heavy beer barrels, etc. 3. Ravercise....a twist on the popular Zumba class, only you are in a dark room with strobe lights and lazers, Rave music pumping away, and you copy the Rave moves the instructor is doing at the front of the class, party on. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() If I took my dog to an exercise class and started holding her above my head in funny positions she'd probably pee on me! (She's only 4 months old lol)

"2. I think they said so far there is only one place in the country which is in London which does Vikings and Valkyries? If it turns out to be popular then may see it becoming more widespread throughout the country?

" 4. Doga......this was by far the strangest one of the lot, and is an alternative take on Yoga classes. You take your dog along to the class and do a series of stretches and meditation poses while you lift and hold your dog in some strange position. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Yes would not be a good situation, LOL. Also think you would struggle with this if you owned a great dane. ![]()

"I think its bollox, just a way to separate more gullible people from their money! You dont need to go to some stupid class to get fitter, or lose weight... here's my no-fail tip... Eat less, exercise more ffs! ![]() I agree with the sentiment, but you need to factor in that people like the novelty factor. And for some people who are scared (maybe not the best word) of gyms and/or exercise something like Zumba is a massive improvement on doing nothing.
