Living on your own

I have had many short term relationships(3-8) years, and although I can't put my finger on why this has happened in my life, I am quite enjoying it at present.

How do you feel

I think you need to be able to live alone, and be truly okay. Only then can you actually give someone else the best of you. If you can't give yourself the very best, you have no business trying to be there for anyone. It's okay to not be in a relationship. It's okay to not want everyone else version of " Happily Ever after"

I don't think I could live with anyone else now. It's been over 20 years and I don't even like people staying with me for more than a week.

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

Happily single and living alone (apart from the several annoying cats). Not sure its a pre-requisite to a happy life as everyone is different, but it helps give a sense of perspective.

7/8 years is as long as I've lasted living with anyone , but I enjoy living by myself ( although I do have my son now) and can't see myself ever doing it again

I think it's great to enjoy your own company .

I like having the remote to myself & having the heating on..... whenever I want

I think everyone should live on their own, at least for a time. I lived by myself for over a quarter of a century....and was quite content with my own company, and my lovely cats. I had no desire to change that and honestly believed I would live out my life as a singleton...... then a few years ago (aged 51) I fell in love and now I can't imagine life without him.

Re-level the patio. Maybe add a few planters.

Brighton - even Hove!

I lived on my own for about 2 years and really enjoy it. I've been married years now and can't imagine not being married. I don't think I'd enjoy being on my own again but I have thought about it at times.

Arse End of the Universe, Cumbria

My husband and I lived together for 14 years, then I was on my own for about 8 years then a relationship for a coupla years and back on my own now for the last 3 years or so. I can honestly say I adore living on my own and whilst I never say never, I think it's highly unlikely I'll ever live with someone again (at least until I'm in my dotage and move into the home for the terminally bewildered)

lol.

I hate the single life but what choice do I have at the end of the day other then cope with it, adapt to it and keep the hope that some day I'll find the right person that deserve my life shared with

I prefer living by myself. I like my own space. I like a lot of my own space.

I'd like more sex but I would have to meet someone really special to want to give up my own space.

All relationships are different, but I feel it's nice to come home to a person that actually appriciates what you have achieved during the day
