A mandolin is a lethal contraption that you use to slice potatoes and your fingers very thinly....you could probably use those season all things you get in the jar to make chilli ones or you can just go to the shop and buy some lol

The land of grey peas and bacon

Ingredients

Serves: 4

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

1 washed potato, sliced paper thin (peeling is optional)

1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste

CREATE SHOPPING LIST with

Method

Prep:10min › Cook:10min › Ready in:20min

Pour the vegetable oil into a plastic sandwich or freezer bag. Add the potato slices, and toss to coat.

Coat a large dinner plate lightly with oil. Arrange potato slices in a single layer on the dish.

Cook in the microwave for 3 to 5 minutes, or until lightly browned (if not browned, they will not become crisp). Times will vary depending on the power of your microwave. Remove chips from plate, and toss with salt (or other seasonings). Let cool. Repeat process with the remaining potato slices. You will not need to keep oiling the plate.

A mandolin on its thinnest setting is ideal, you could use a potato peeler but they wouldn't look very crisp shaped. Mix whatever seasoning with the salt to flavour

Yes you can use a potato peeler I have it works very well. You can also use parsnip, carrot, beetroot as well as potato. Medium heat in the oven on a baking tray check after about 10 minutes if still not crispy leave a little longer but keep checking. Homemade delicious.
