Hi I'm going to egypt next month for 2 weeks, paid nearly £2000 for me and my partner. We split up not to long ago. No one I've asked to go can get the time off work or don't have enough holidays, I was wondering if I had any chance with some holiday insurance. Other than that not sure what to do really..

You mean get travel insurance (that you don't already have?) and then try to get your money back?

Might be worth seeing if cancellation even covers relationship breakdown

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

I think you're supposed to buy the insurance before you cancel/split up, but worth a try. It only adds a little bit to everyone elses premiums.

Well how about you actually look up some travel insurance policies and see what they cover?

Would you be able to sell the holiday to someone ..put up an offer and the dates maybe. have you contacted the supplier and told them what has happened .

I know somebody that had to cancel for a relationship breakdown. They actually offered it to us - all expenses paid!

We reluctantly declined. They ended up getting back together. Their insurance did cover them - and they rebooked.

So yes, it may.

Could make a difference if you were married or boyfriend/girlfriend.
