I've always found it works best as a topping on mint choc chip ice cream

I suspect it can't be used by itself but with the addition of eggs and man batter it could make an intersting delicacy

Don't be silly. It's a well known fact that fanny batter contains self raising flour. You need a plain flour batter for pancakes and yorkshires.
