Your Funeral Song

I've had to choose recently for a funeral and it really gets you thinking.

So if you had to choose a song to represent you or just one you love for your funeral ..... What would it be?

My step-father went out to "Swing low Sweet Chariot" & I always knew my Mum's choice "Rockin All Over the World" by Quo! And we honoured her wish.

I think I'd go for "Drops of Jupiter" by Train & " Wake Me Up" by Avicii.

Titz Towers, North Notts

I'd choose the theme music from the Dave Allen show and insist on a coffin with two huge bumps on the top for my boobies. I'd also have it in my wishes that it's not a padre who officiates, but a stand up comedian dressed as one. The idea being he starts off playing it straight before subverting proceedings more and more.

On the way out after my Funeral they will play this song I loved for years Freddie's music and this song with Montserrat just takes him to a another level in my eyes, And at night there will be a Big fireworks party and this song will be played to my family and friends. Barcelona Freddie Mercury & Montserrat Caballe .

All you feel.

All that you love

All that you hate

All you distrust

All you save.

All that you give

All that you deal

All you create

All you destroy

All that you do

All that you say.

All that you eat

And everyone you meet

All that you slight

And everyone you fight.

All that is now

hahaha that would be very funny though! The only reason I've chosen 'she' is because the words sum me up, it would make people think and smile when they listen to the words.

Is there a time limit to the tune?

If not maybe something like Act III of Die Walküre (Its about 70 mins and starts with "The Ride of the Valkyries"

If there is a limit maybe John Cage's 4'33" (of silence).

After all it will be my last chance to make a real and lasting impression...

Dont know if they are still going but there used to be a lot of folkies (i was 1) in Broseley. They had lots of bands, folk, blues, rock, and if I remember right 1 of the lineups was a deep south jazz band. We used to drink in the Cumberland Hotel Broseley...

Hope this helps

For mine it would be-same wedding song..& Hurt..johnny cash..my husband would also have slipknott-vimillion prt 2...

"

Goodbye my lover is a great tune - but ruined as something to be taken seriously thanks to Rob Bryden's uncle Bryn character in Gavin & Stacey.

Likewise If You Don't Know Me By Now as murdered by David Brent!

Ernie the Fastest Postman in the west was number one when I was born, sure as hell won't be having that at my funeral! "

I am not having a funeral, too depressing, have decided to have a party a week before I chose to go.

Before illness changes me,

So many people hang onto life, although the quality has gone,

Luckily within the next 5 years we will be able to chose when we say goodbye, within 10 years it will be perfectly normal.

We have been able to decide when our pets go, so that they don't suffer, the sooner the law is changed the better....

"Mine are , Puff the magic dragon as still makes me cry , living in a box and morning has broken by cat stevens .

Puff the Magic Dragon by Marlene Dietrich is fantastic

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=faDDATsY4_I"

I love Puff The Magic Dragon!

I've already chosen Mozarts Piano Trio 5. I would have Mozarts Requiem , which would sound amazing in somewhere like Westminster Cathedral, but as I will probably end up with a quick service in a Bristol Crem with the music being played on a cassette player I will stick with my original choice.
