Is it ever ok to take gifts off people you meet? Basically seeing someone who's married wants to buy me some really expensive headphones as a birthday gift. Feels strange I'm not here to profit from my fun. Already had aftershave at Xmas.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I accepted some chocolate animals at a first meet. Does that make me a bad person?

I don't get offered or given gifts from people I meet unless we have crossed into the more than a special friend realm.

Where are you with your friend?

Well if you don't want them I don't see your problem, do as Zammo suggested.

if you are friends and you usually get gifts off friends, then dont see a problem.

but as said, if she is buying you, or you feel like she is, then it wouldnt sit right at all

Me and my fb swap gifts but then we have known each other over two years and are genuine friends. It depends on the 'relationship'. If it is more a casual thing then I would think it strange.

i would back off if someone wanted to start exchanging gifts as i see this site as a completely dispasionate trade off for sex

I see it as fun but now she's started to buy me gifts seems awkward as I only want fun not a "special relationship"

Then you need to be honest and tell her how it makes you feel.

It depends on how you feel about her, how much emotion is involved and 1001 other things. It may upset her though to refuse but it sounds like it might not sit well with you to accept I would think long and hard about it.

Yeah I think she's seeing things very differently to you. Time for a talk I think.

Me personally wouldn't want to accept gifts although I did get some flowers last Christmas from a long term buddy but that was just something small.

It is not payment for fun, it is just part of the generous nature that some have. Refuse or accept as you see fit. If pushed, donate to charity or re-gift out.

This is a conversation that should be had with your friend. Nothing we say is going to tell you her motives behind the gifts or her your feelings about them, every relationship needs communication and boundaries...the latter only clear and established to both by the former.

My fwb and I swapped gifts at Christmas and our birthdays but ive known him nearly a year now and we are friends but from a meet I see as just fun, no I would feel uneasy unless it was something funny that maybe you have both talked about and laughed about .. And will use on your meet . But if you feel uneasy then tell her.

Does her husband know? If not I'd decline and end contact as this has the potential of getting messy.

Sounds as if she sees the 'relationship' as being more than you do. Time for a wee chat I think, 'cards on the table' time.

I'm married, try not to meet married men but they seem to gravitate towards me. My complications are trying to get out and get some. I don't want gifts
