Nope. I haven't done anything special for any 'milestone' birthdays.

I had intended to celebrate my 40th last year but a close family bereavement 11 days before it put paid to that. And is going to blight every future birthday.

I did nothing for 16th , 18th, 21st or 40th. Just went down the pub.

However in a few years I'll be 50 and the following day my daughter will be 21 so I'm thinking of having a bit if a do.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

My rites of passage have not been linked to a birthday but to life events that have made me the person I am now.

Maybe I should just go with the flow and have a party for my 50th.

I went to Stringfellows on my 21st (classy I know) and ended up footing the bar bill. In 2003 a single bottle of Absolut was £120 and there was a mixed group of about 10 people.

So glad I didn't suggest Champagne.

18th in my local with parents and friends from 6th form, got a full on kiss off every girl (oh where did my boyish good looks go)

21st spent in partying in Sgt Peppers in San Antonio Ibiza with quite possibly the best looking woman I have ever met and who pulled me, I still can't believe I lost her number and address

So true. Don't want a party for my 50th later this year though.
