The government is keen to get young people into work, even if it involves working on a porn film set or in a sex shop, according to official guidance issued by Iain Duncan Smith's Department for Work and Pensions.

However employers looking to hire young people as full-time strippograms, topless maids, mud wrestlers or "cat fighters", will not get any government help in the form of a £2,275 wage subsidy. Also, any work in the porn industry will only go as far as being behind the camera rather than performing.

Those looking to take on young unemployed people for other permanent positions can be eligible for a £2,275 "wage incentive" under the government's "Youth Contract". The government is offering a £1,137.50 wage subsidy for those taken on for part-time work.

The following jobs "of a sexual nature" will not be get any government subsidy if an employer wants to give them to a young person, according to the DWP's official guidance on jobs in the adult entertainment industry.

Lap/pole/table/dancers

Web-cam performers

Male/Female Escorts

Masseuse/masseur in saunas/massage parlours

Strippers

Glamour models

Sex chat-line operators

Strippograms

Kissograms

Topless bar staff

Topless cleaners

Dominatrix

Mud wrestlers/cat fighters

Dance troupes (e.g. burlesque, Chippendale)

Meanwhile, employers who hire young people for the following "adult entertainment" jobs can expect to claim a £2,275 wage subsidy from the government.

those involved in the sale, manufacture, distribution and display of sex related products;

auxiliary workers in lap/pole dancing clubs – e.g. bar staff, door staff, receptionists or cleaners;

auxiliary workers in strip clubs – e.g. bar staff, door staff, receptionists or cleaners;

auxiliary workers in saunas/massage parlours e.g. bar staff, door staff, receptionists or clearers;

glamour mode photographers;

web-cam operators;

TV camera operators, sound technicians, producers/directors for adult channels on digital TV;

TV camera operators, sound technicians, producers/directors for pornographic films

A DWP spokesperson confirmed that the document was genuine, telling the Huffington Post UK: “This Government took action to ensure jobs in the adult industry which might exploit jobseekers were not advertised through Jobcentre Plus.

“We also ensured that to be eligible for our schemes jobs must not exploit vulnerable jobseekers”

However, the coalition's vigilance did not stop a £10-per-hour prostitute job advert popping up in error on the Direct Gov website.

I could stand naked in the corner of an adult themed restaurant, gyrating and fanning customers with my penis

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

The camera operator won't have anything to point at without the performer. I guess a lot of young wannabes will now be registered as bar staff.

Somewhere in North Norfolk

There are some "adult entertainment" jobs I'd be happy to do.

I wonder if you can get a business loan for start-up costs.

Are your residual fees taken into account in relation to your tax credit payments - or is this only a problem if you're in Equity?
