A friend of mine has recently taught herself to crochet and makes kids hats like minions from despicable me, buzz light year, owls etc.

So last Friday I went off to the wool shop and got some yarn, hooks and have been teaching myself from you tube tutorials! And now I'm obsessed!

I've picked it up quite quickly after spending the first few days getting stroppy and swearing a lot!!

Any other crafters among us?? What is your craft and are you any good!

I cross stitch.

I mainly do it for my own enjoyment, but occasionally do commissions. I do key rings, baby bibs, framed stuff, cushions etc.

Every so often I go through what I've done amd either sell it or donate it to charity shops.

Sewing - curtains and throws so far and several cross stitch, which I started years ago during a stint in hospital.

Curtains are pretty good. I've bought good quality woven roll end fabric and made all the curtains for our new home at a fraction of the price you'd pay in a shop

It gets very cold working on building sites this time of year and they just don't sell them anywhere in the shops.

Somewhere in North Norfolk

I can do quite a lot of craft-type stuff.

I can knit and cross stitch, though I find both boring.

I can sew, (with a sewing machine. My hand stitching is untidy and needs work), and make basic clothes and items from patterns. I'd like to get better at this and intend to this year.

I can make beaded jewellery and plan to take up making chain maille jewellery this year.

I'm interested in leatherwork too and have a load of offcuts in a box here to play with when I get a chance. I need to buy a bench anvil and some tools first.

I can sketch if I have something to copy and I've painted, (watercolour, acrylic and gouache), in the past with reasonable results.

I used to make friendship bracelets.

I'd like to learn to airbrush, (art rather than, say, vehicles), but I can't afford the kit necessary at the moment.

So far I've been at least reasonable at everything I've tried in terms of crafts.

I am a good knitter both on machine and hand knits cables and patterns.

I used to sell loads of things I made on machine back in the 80's £100 plus back then was very popular.

I havent knitted since I got into the computer as my hands are always busy now . I can also crochet and sew.

Made all my own clothes as a teen. Might get back into knitting now I have a baby to make stuff for. Want to do smocking again as the Dads are very keen on the old fashioned look . I thought people had gone off hand made stuff these days but seems not after all.

Think generally im quite creative.. recently its photography and body art/face painting. Love to sketch using tonal pencils.

Used to make cards/invitations. Got an A in GCSE Art and that was 2yrs of using different materials to create various bits n bobs.

Cross Stitching (never had the patience to do big works though, only stuck to the stuff i could do in a week)

Since having a child, its all cut sticking and glueing, bung in a load of feathers, ice lolly sticks, googly eyes and glitter and its just a load of fun

She likes tatting cos it's really portable and you see quick results.

And she sews so has a use for it when made.
