I went to see Lee Evans in a play recently. Whilst the play was good I didn't really get what Mr. Evans was all about. In the audience were a large contingent of his fans and they were cracking up at every little twitch he done. It's a bit like Norman Wisdom has been reincarnated only less funny.

I know what you mean about Brand. I can never figure if he uses his vocabulary to disguise something, or if he feels embarrassed at how clever he sometimes is and feels the need to act the fool to balance it out.

If he had some substance behind the stuff he talked about with Paxman he could have genuinely sparked off a movement of support. But sadly I think he's too self absorbed to actually do it.

Still makes me laugh though - and I like that film he's in in Hawaii.

I can't bear the sight of Lee Evans. Apart from the fact that he's just not funny, his whole act is a copy of Jerry Lewis, and I didn't find him funny either. Slapstick should be left in the distant past, it may have given people a giggle in a variety show setting in the early 1900's but it's so far past it's use by date that it's got a real stink to it.
