Relocation from London to Wiltshire back in 2006 was by far the most stressful single event of my life, more so than losing a partner suddenly, or divorce, or losing my dad, or changing jobs.

I still have not recovered from it, and have no plan to relocate in the near future, which suits me well, as I like my job and am not looking for greener pastures.

This was not a planned move so not budgeted for this and have had to use most of my savings for this move....

Still have to sort things out myself before bringing in external help to carry out the move itself, that's the most stressful part for me, having to tidy and sort!

In Your Bush

Plan it well and get as much done as possible before the day and it will be a doddle.

I would need movers in as some of my furniture is quite heavy ,especially bedroom furniture etc. My brother offered but he has a bad back etc and would feel bad if anything happened. so am already saving what i can for my eventual move.

Agree with you there cheeky,

Moving from Shropshire to Kent was mega stressful, then we moved house last year as well!!

As Ryan said, lots of planning, start packing now and labelling so it's less to do nearer the time!!

Good luck x

"I made the decision next timeo move I will pay for movers saw neighbours do this it looked stress free"

My mother paid for movers when she moved to York and they were pretty bad. 'Lost' a lot of her stuff, and broke a few other things. Didn't turn up when they said they would, and basically stressed her out hugely. Sometimes it not always better.

At least your gas rebate will replace some of it.

Label all the boxes with the room they need to go into, saves a lot of hassle later.

Moving is a stressful time. Sorting out tenancy agreements and having a tenant move into one of my houses was stressful and I found it difficult at first knowing that someone else was living in my house. Im ok now and my tenant is ideal, I have support from my parents who have a lot of experience in renting out property,

Whilst it is stressful, its not on a par with more traumatic events like losing family members etc. My biggest problem with it is the untidiness, I cannot stand living out of boxes, I work like a mad thing to ensure that I get it tidy

I agree with Temoting Devil in being organised while packing up saves lots of time later, Its also a good time to get a skip and get rid of unwanted items. Keep items for soecific rooms together and label each box clearly. Then in the new house each box can go in its respective room and it foesnt seem as bad then

If anything is broken don't they reimburse? ?

It's a good opportunity to de-clutter, and redecorate. Exciting, I'd say.

I have moved 17 times in 25 years, did the last one the week before Xmas. It is stressful, but if you plan well it takes the sting out of it. We had removals men do the last move as we have a fucking great piano that needed carrying up stairs!!!

Good luck with the move, will be worth it when you finally get in! x
