What does this mean to you?

I can travel within walking distance or maybe a 30 bus ride. But won't travel miles away.

So for the best part, I put I can can't travel.

I was going to post a bit of a rant about this subject but did a search first

Anyway 'can travel' is very ambiguous as it can mean anything from walking distance to having a car and can travel anywhere.

There 'should' be more options so if you do state 'you can travel' you can pick from:

Walking.

Cycling.

Bus.

Train.

& Car.

We are trying to meet a younger guys but most of their profiles say 'can travel' but what that usually means is 'must be in walking/cycling/bus distance'

I suppose it doesn't help that this forum uses a pre configured archaic software from the 90s which is a pain to add selectable fields.

Well, I guess up to 30 miles for singles...maybe 50.

Couples seem happy to travel to Mars and back for a weekend meet

Horse for courses I suppose ?

I am very accommodating so any ladies feel free to travel huge distances. Try to ignore the 1000s of hot guys along the way...I make a fab breakfast

For the right person, distance isn't really that important. Mind I've got a new car... he's a dream to drive.

MAMOBA, miles and miles of bugger all (Aberdeenshire)

I've traveled a long distance for a meet (combined with football tho )

And had someone regularly commit to a 350 mile round trip to visit... but generally, I prefer local-ish meets (altho up here thats usually about up to 75 miles travel)

I have in my profile about distance preferred being local

Why would anyone state their mode of transport on their profile? Just talk to people.

I put this, all I mean by it is that I won't travel out of immediate area, or somewhere I can't get to on public transport. Obviously I'll travel outside of my house

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

I can and do travel quite a long way for meets, but it usually includes shopping, or even working! Funnily enough I struggle more meeting locally because its amazing the amount of guys who say they live in York but actually live in small villages where the only bus stops running at 3pm.

Just a mini rant (it is Thursday!) Why do people put 'can accommodate' then when you ask they actually can only accommodate one afternoon a week? Annoying!

I have can accommodate, but its not for first meets, and only for people I trust...

If they said that I would understand, but they tend to say 'oh I put that but I can only accommodate when my friend/flatmate/family are out'. So technically they can't.

I can accommodate but my kids live with me so I need to arrange for them to either stop at friends or at their grandparents so it takes a little time.

Travel wise I really don't mind the distance but child care comes into play once again. If they're at home with a sitter then 20 - 30 miles is my limit, if they're away then it doesn't matter.
