Does anyone know if there's anything in swimming pool water that can affect nail strength. I've noticed this week that my nails have been splitting on top, almost like they are peeling. And today one has snapped.

simples its the corrosive chemical called chlorine.

I wasn't sure if chlorine affected nails! I'll have to try and get some nail strengthener!

I always wear nail varnish. They will always be softer after being in water. Never noticed a difference in mine.
