I had 3 pints of fluid drained off my knee and it was the singularly most painful thing I had ever experienced (upto that point...they hadn't reconstructed my ACL yet!), so careful what you wish for

It's actually just the last bit that hurts a lot, when there's no more fluid left to drain.

I suffered from fluid on the knee when I was 10, due to overdoing sports, I ended up thinking I had fluoride on the knee

I can't believe your post as from what I have seen. There is nothing wrong with your legs

My arthroscopy was very simple. I didn't have any fluid to drain but the surgery on the cartilage was quick and easy. It was done as day surgery.

I came out with my leg heavily bandaged from just above my knee to just below but the bandage didn't need to stay on for long. I was on crutches for a couple of days.

No big deal at all.

Do your physio afterwards religiously.

Sorry, I'll rephrase...

'Awww, bless you Hun, don't worry about it, the nice doctors and nurses will make sure no one hurts you and then they'll get all the Fab white knights and sycophants to come and kiss it better for you'

Well my doctor told me its a damaged cartilage but my xray has showed up fluid too, so could I just have fluid or have both damaged cartilage and fluid too. My knee keeps locking too and giving away, last week my knee locked that badly I was shouting for K to help me get up and when it finally unlocked the pain from the unlocking was that bad the pain shoot up through my body and popped both ears, iv never felt pain like it before. x

They haven't said, when i saw my doctor he said its a damaged cartilage and it looks like you will need surgery he sent me for a xray to discard any broken bones but that's come back as fluid around my knee too, I rang for my results yesterday and said you have to see a bone specialist on Monday coming x
