Hair colour...

Has anyone ever dyed over black hair at home without lightening and had a good result??

According to the box it should take but I'm not sure and don't want to end up with black hair and colours roots! X

Nope.

Years of dying my hair black and umpteen attempts at now colouring it brown. (dark brown, chocolate brown etc)

It's half grown out and the last year has taught me, it will have to grow out or be bleached out; so I'm doing the waiting game

It was decided at Christmas by my nearest and dearest that that's the colour I should go when I'm allowed to dye it again.

If I do decide to do so there is a hairdressers run by a bunch of old hippies near me that I think will be able to achieve a good colour at minimal cost.

This was 4.50. It's gonna be washed off in about ten mins x

It's not gone very purple at all. My scalp is though!! Haha!! I'll keep doing it this colour now though as the black grows out the purple should catch up

You can buy a colour remover at superdrug etc. Hubby thought I might look good as a red head. End result I looked like a match stick. I applied the colour remover it took all the colour off I left it on a few mins longer and it highlighted my hair.
