Don't knock it!!!

I'm almost 59 and still love Trance music.

I celebrated my 50th birthday by visiting Ibiza and went to all the major clubs on the island, including 2 closing nights and had a superb time. It was also good for meeting the ladies too, but that's another story!!

Ah yea went to see Above&Beyond at Ally Pally was amazing, off to see Armin in Feb in Holland. Xtaisa was reallly gooood cant wait for their next one.

The Dungeon

Talamasca (French) is my personal favourite. PsyTrance is my favourite style. Schyzotrop, Nomad, Dj Ananda, DJ Gui, DJ Neshama all wonderful exponants of pure Trance/PsyTrance.

Justice before they split were at the avant garde of all modern trance music.

DJ ChrisB moved from Trance to Deep House but he was cool while in the scene.

If you really want to hear some great Trance I suggest you go to Podomatic (you don't have to join to DL free stuff), search Trance and listen to thousands of hours of free, top class music. I get all my music from there or Soundcloud now as no one seems to sell it outside of specialist outlets.

Ah I was there too, Angry Man, John Askew at Trancecoda then I went to an epic 13hr Event at Energy Box. Was at Trancecode Sat. Yea DS line up is sooo goood.

The clue is in the post there sadly, ELECTRONIC artists, using a computer for 95% of their sounds, all of those have faded away and are living off reunion tours because electronic music is the most unoriginal for of music, take all the songs by real bands that these trance and dance ppl rip off because they have no original material, and nothing to say with their music whatsoever

And what do you think a synthesiser is ?? Its ELECTRONIC !!

And as for ripping of other peoples music there is just as much if not more original dance music produced than so called real bands ! Just because music has evolved doesnt mean its crap.

And whilst on the subject how many tribute bands ride of the back of succesful bands etc hmmm ??

I hate trance, too many memories of germans dancing badly to it it in the early 90's. Not a good look when i was out there

I hung up my trance shoes a few back now when I took my step kids to a gig at wembley and was blown away by a live concert. Over 300 live gigs later seeing some of the biggest and smallest bands in the world later

However had some very good nights and wouldn't dream of ever getting rid of my 5000+ record collection and technic 1200's in fact if anyone is in need of a dj for a old skool trance night give us a shout

Currently I'm very much into what simon patterson is doing just now, contraband is a weapon of a tune, sledgehammer is also an epic thumper of a tune. I really need to download some more of his open up podcasts though, fallen behind a bit.

I also love the classics, going back as far as mayday and no women allowed, 9mm, I could go on all day.

Really into hard style as well, bioweapon, headhunterz, alpha2 etc.

96-01 was the golden age for me though, mainly because of the memories of gatecrasher, godskitchen, slinky etc. tracks like breeder-twilo thunder, the gate-iron Eden, kaycee-escape ....all epic

Psymon Patter is on form! Contraband is a grear track but his classics us, taxi, F16 are all amazing, will be seeing him a few times at Crasher,mos etc. Shame about Gods but they are slowy coming back.
