My purse (although stolen I think it counts)

Oh and the hard drive from Dad's desktop - had so many photographs that we lost.

Come to think of it: the pair of glasses that have the anti glare thingymajig on, a very expensive handbag (that the dog ate) an expensive pair of sunglasses, my laptop a few times (thank goodness for PC World's policy!) and an ovary!

Thieves broke into our home and stole all my jewellery. The things my parents and then husband bought me, including my engagement ring weren't the things that upset me really although that was bad enough but it was the gold watch my gran had bought me for my 18th that broke my heart. I'm 49 now and she paid £250 for it and to me it was priceless. Parents and hubby could replace things if they really wanted to but that watch was irreplaceable. I asked the local police if I could have 10 minutes in the cell with the b*****s if they ever caught them and he said 'Bloody hell no, they wouldn't be safe' lol

I know my gran died three years ago at the the age of 95. I have lovely warm and wonderful memories of her and all the thieves had was a few quid probably so the way I look at it is that I'm still one up on them

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

My grandmother had used the last of her gold to make me a necklace with my name. I wore it everyday for 15 years. I was going out the evening I lost it and was convinced it was going to be stolen so I left it at home. I got home to find we had been burgled and it had been stolen.

The diamond from my aunt's engagement ring. She passed it on to me when I was thirteen, fulfilling a promise she made to the old beau when they separated. It fell out in Borders at Liverpool Street. It was such a beautiful diamond and the one that has replaced it is not a patch on the original.

My will to live on more than one occasion.

My heart.

My self confidence.

My dignity.

Most precious of all was my son.

I didn't realise how careless I am. I had better start stitching labels in the back of things.

There is no need. As my Buddhist friend tells me regularly, everything is temporary.

Very true, even the universe. Even thought it's inevitable a little less suffering would be nice though.

Creativity, innovation, compassion, reflection, growth and much more can come from suffering. It's not nice but it is part of life too.

Again very true, and these things also come from love. x
