"I Need You" by The Kinks. Was the B-side of "Set Me Free", and remained almost undiscovered for about 20 years.

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

Not sure if John Grant is 'hidden' but I only hear him on 6 Music and think he's brilliant.

Ray Wiley Hubbard-A D*unken Poets Dream is one of my all time faves. It's simple, laid back and deeply suggestive. A complete hidden gem in my opinion.

Yup I have that one too. The guy kills me, his stuff is super hard to learn too, it took me nearly a year to nail Cliffs of Dover...

Loads of Prince b-sides.

Irresistible Bitch

Hello

How come you don't call me anymore? (nicely covered by Alicia Keys)

Also there are some great remixes that escape wider recognition:

Boards of Canada's remix of Prime Audio Soup by Meat Beat Manifesto.

Coil's remix of Closer by Nine Inch Nails

Stereo MCs remix of Makes Me Wanna Die by Tricky

And there's a string quartet arrangement of the Orb's "Oxbow Lakes" on the single, which is pretty spectacular.
