Belly button piercing

Had mine pierced well over a year ago, but for the last few weeks its started giving me jip, it hurts like mad if I knock it or touch it, it is a bit red, not weeping though, anybody got any ideas on fixing my broken belly button

P.s I've been to my piercers and she said to put cotton wool in my belly button and tape it, to stop it from pushing down, did this for a week, no joy, don't want to take it out though help xx

I had problems with mine about 15 years ago , I used and will probably get shouted at for saying it a couple of drops of tea tree oil a day and after a few days was right as rain and had no bother with it since

I've used this for many piercings, but can't remember if I used it on my belly button, but did use salt water!!! How did you apply it, neat or in warm water? Xx

I had my belly button pierced years ago. Loved it! Unfortunately found I kept knocking it. One day the bar came out and I just couldn't get it back in. Gutted!

I just used it neat , it worked perfectly well for me but it did say not to be applied near. I have no regrets about getting mine done, got a feeling it will grow out soon though as it's near top of skin now.

Have you put anything on it? Maybe try antiseptic spray like savlon to see if it brings the redness down

Try getting a longer bar. If it is to short it will cause problems.I have a 10mm one. Also til it feels better dont wear anything that will rub on it x

Had mine done 17 Years ago only taken it out 3 times and that has been through current and previous pregnancies, I put it back in with no problems after each baby, just used a bit of savlon on the bar to ease it back through. Is usually a bit sore for a week or so but I just apply alot of savlon.

Try soaking it in Epsom salt & water. Anytime my piercings get sore, it takes care any infection of it quickly.

I have had mine since the summer. Never changed it. Are they hard to change? (Anyone?)

Nope not hard at all. What I found hard was trying to keep the ball attached, I lost loads before someone told me to put a tiny dab of nail polish on the tip before screwing the ball on. It really works.

Iv been wanting to get one done for ages! Dies this happen a lot with belly button rings??

As with any piercing look after it, keep it clean, use salt water and savlon spray, keep your fingers off, it dont turn it.

Dont change it too early and if you do change it make sure you use titanium or surgical steel never plated jewellery. If it weeps take it out yourself or go back to your piercer. Hope this helps

I've used tea tree oil neat on my belly button piercing and nipple piercing; always works great.

I took both out years ago (with last pregnancy) but I put the nipple piercing back in, post a year of breast feeding.

I didn't put the belly button one back in as I was due an op.

Then I had another op (both through the belly button) so I've left my belly button to heal with it's scars

If I had any other piercing done I'd just carry on with tea tree oil
