"I rarely tweak my profile as it generally serves me well. However, I have chosen to delete the term 'athletic' since so many people have wildly different ideas of what that is. My hooe is that it may reduce the number of messages I have to say no thanks to. What does 'athletic' mean to you? " *hope

"Toned, but not skinny right up to men with true rugby player builds. I'd put you as curvy as you have big boobs xx" To me curvy can mean all sorts like athletic can. I put average as I am a size 14 and that is the average size for women. I think you are right about athletic possibly meaning rugby-player types - and that is why I deleted it as that is not my preference. It just saves people time.

"I am bodybuilding and got fair amount of muscles. I gues that is being athletic." I have met a few body-builders in the past but my taste is for more slim and slender now. That's why I have removed 'athletic' as it gives a false impression of what I am after.

"To me athletic is someone who likes to workout and keep fit. I don't think it means slim at all, have you seen some of the Welsh rygbi players? Stocky men can still be athletic, in my oppinion " Which is why I have now removed it from my profile.

"I am bodybuilding and got fair amount of muscles. I gues that is being athletic." I don't mind body builders but not keen on them when they are cutting. I've dated a couple and found I'd get turned off when their body fat dropped too low.

As someone else has pointed out, to me athletic meant slim with some definition - the long-distance runner type. But then realised that actually it is a term which is wildly open to interpretation.

"I always state average for me. To me athletic is well toned ...six pack that kind of thing Not sure average is the right one for me as the term "average" is a very broad term... I'd say "healthy looking"(lol) is probably more for me but it wasn't an option funnily enough lol so average it has to be " Fucking hot.....would suit you better.

" How many people take note of the description anyway ? I tend to find you can form an attraction to all sorts, it just boils down to the eye of the beholder ?" It was written in my profile text - that is what I was referring to. And yes, you can form an attraction to all sorts, and I have. But those were more long term arrangements. Mostly I do one offs which means that there has to be a quicker attraction and slim/slender is what is currently attracting me the most.

I'd say athletic means slim runner type too. For a female I'd say slim and toned, size 10/12 max, dependent on height and how she looks really For a bloke, not rugby player build. No idea how I'd describe that. I just go off pics anyway. Some people think I'm average, some think I'm fat. Fine by me, it's all relative and no right answer.

The descriptions are so open to interpretation. For me curvy women are most attractive, but some may call themselves large or ample when I'd counter that description. Picture paints thousand words....as long as its recent.

"Athletic to me wouldn't describe someone who is very muscular. I tend to think of athletic more as stamina etc rather then body type. A lot of the big muscly guys I know have no cardio ability at all even though they could lift heavy weights, whereas long distance runners can look like they'd blow over in the wind but can run 10,000 metres no problem. Very subjective.. Just like all the other body types on here. Personally i think it would be easier to get shot of that part as you can't use it for a search criteria anyway and let photos show your actual body size/shape x" I agree that it is subjective. However, there are some who think they are athletic when they clearly are not - I think more Mo Farah than Geoff Capes.

"I distinctly remember this subject turning into a bunfight last time it came up. Was entertaining though and I still maintain Mo Farrah *is* of athletic build... " Well, the intent is clearly not to put down anyone. Just a discussion of what people consider athletic and clearly opinions are wide and varied.

The most common types of athletics competitions are track and field, road running, cross country running, and race walking. "
