Just had a phone call from my broker, re my buildings insurance which is due for renewal

Gave me a quote, slightly cheaper than last year, asked if I wanted to continue. I said I hadn't had tme to compare.

The guy looked for me, same company, exactly the same cover, £120 cheaper.

Lesson learnt always check and ask them to look at other options

Titz Towers, North Notts

I agree - I told the lady from Tesco that I thought they could improve on their quote and got a free voucher. She didn't go with my suggestion of free sweets, though.

i always change every year.

even if my current insurers show they can do better, its the principal.

they should have offered the better offer first and foremost instead of me having to chase it.

who knows, maybe if everyone did this they would learn, but probably not

I would have changed but they were the cheapest by a good amount

i change every year also. My folks until a few years ago had the same policy from the pru for donkeys. told them to look at other companies. they were surprised when they saved couple of hundred. Sometimes i wonder if i am adopted

see, thats where im stubborn lol.

i would still change even if it cost me a few quid.

like i said, it, to me, is disrespectful to the customer.

i know everyone has to make money, but they make money from selling policies, no matter how much it costs you

This has happened every time I renew my fixed rate mortgages. They offer me a new rate and when I tell them that I expect preferential, existing customer rates, they say no and are quite happy for me to go elsewhere, which I always do and I've never lost out yet.

I always check around before signing up. Always a deal to be had.
