"I've "climbed" Mont Blanc and mt murrarata in Bolivia. Both were big snow walks. How much climbing is involved is defined by how "technical" the maintain is. For example Everest is classed as not too technical whereas something smaller like mount McKinley in the Rockies is much harder" Mt McKinley is in Alaska not the Rockies, my BF has climbed it but not summited.

"I have a piece of granite from the top of Ben Nevis sat on my windowsill, this was extracted circa 1992. It was snowy and foggy at the top and although it was a slow walk up the path, it was much more painful on the calves on the descent. I call my piece of rock, well you can guess " Bob? I'd like to do snowden this year.

"Going up hill at any angle on foot or all fours is climbing no matter how hard..." true, but they are graded, so the less experienced/capable can gauge what they can handle responsibly.

"I do indoor rock climbing and bouldering, does that count? Well you know you hear these people who say I "climbed" Mount Everest say for example. How much of that is walking up small/massive steep hills and how much of it is actually climbing to the point where all you see at the side/front of you is the drop/the amount you have climbed? " i wouldn't be impressed by someone who claims to have climbed Everest.there is a small section of jigging up a rope.k2 is a different story. ive done bits in the Himalayas more of a rock climber upto a decent level all over Europe.

I think "that's nice/horrible view", dont think of the height. Only think of it if its beside, behind or in front of me. The view of the drop that is. The effort it would take to climb it won't bother me much. Its the drop that concerns me a bit.

"Crib Goch route might make you wince a bit, however the railway route is no problem. Kids and OAP's use this route which is basically walking next to the train track from Llanberis and there's a cafe at the top so you can get a nice cup of tea and slice of cake while you take in the stunning vista's." Or you can drive..
