A Secret Hideaway In the caravan of love

Who should get a Damehood or Knighthood in the NY Honours list?

I would suggest.

Paul O'Grady for his charity work with homeless animals.

I would also like to see more awards going to members of the armed forces.

Wouldn't be surprised if Andy Murray got one.

The honours list needs to be scrapped, and stringent rules applied, it seems now a days that every tom, dick and Harry get something just for being kind, doing their job or being in the news.

Glad Murray didn't get anything, he won Wimbledon which was great but omg it's his job, and we need to stop going OTT when we win anything

Other than celebrities who actively involve themselves with charities or good causes, I’m fairly apathetic when I see sport people or entertainers receive honours in recognition of achievements within their chosen career/profession ..

However I do like the idea of recognising the many unsung heroes within our society by bestowing them with pubic honour…

But I’m much less enthusiastic about the seemingly endless matter of course awards that are routinely given to long standing civil servants and I think it’s about time that practice was pared back …..

Nobody should get a gong for doing what they do for a living.

If, over and above work, you've been a youth organisation leader or charity collector or ......... for xx years - fine.

PS. I think we should see the list of those who've been offered something but have had the decency to knock it back.
