If you hate it, is it not a choice ? After all its what we choose to make it ? Simply make it into what you want it to be.

This year I hate it.

It's not a choice. The decision was made for me and I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

Sadly it's not a choice. These days it's pretty well forced on us!

Anyway, I hope you all enjoy yours. Take care and have fun.

We don't hate it, but mostly ignore it. We have spent today together, just the two of us, chilling and relaxing. Didn't buy presents for ANYONE, we never do as we prefer to make a fuss of people on birthdays instead.

That said, we are seeing the kids on Saturday and will have some family time then.

Love it or hate it, it's nearly over. :D

Happy Christmas everyone.

I don't "enjoy" Christmas, I feel like a hypocrite... I don't even believe in Jesus, god the bible and everything else to do with religion, yet here I am celebrating the birthday of someone/something I don't believe in...

Much rather be in the Alps boarding all day.....

Jesus wasn't born on this day, he was born in the summer. And the reason why we celebrate this day was because it was celebrated as a pagan holiday and then the christians took over it. Or something like that. I dont follow religion

Exactly! they also moved the pagan festival, I think it was 23rd... I gave up on religion when I found out Henry 8th invented CofE so he could get divorced...

I used to enjoy Christmas, but:

1) I barely drink these days and I don't like seeing people who are blind d*unk everywhere. I hate the way our cities and towns are turned into dodgy places to be at night. I used to be a pretty big drinker too!

2) I hate the way it starts so early. I remember when I was about 14, my mum tutting because the neighbours put up Christmas decorations on the 1st Dec. Anyone putting decorations up in November should be fined!

I'm starting to like it again after enduring horrible Christmases while I was with an ex, and I've enjoyed preparing for it these last 10 days or so.

The really long run up and people spouting on and on and on about it from October drives me nuts though. People get carried away and make far too much fuss and even get into debt over it.

I'm not overly religious but most people seem to have forgotten the true meaning of it anyway and seem to think it's all about expensive presents and getting d*unk!

I loved it as a kid but now as a mum to two v young kids it's love hate; love their excitement and wonder but hate all the prep, mess and stress that comes with hosting. I'm knackered and now just want to shove most of the toys that are taking over the house in the charity shop. Realise I sound like Scrooge... Shit.

I don't hate Xmas. I just hate the fact people go over the top to the point where they don't go shopping at all in January, leaves us retailers out of pocket then. Apart from that I don't mind it. Can be great or poor. Depending who I am with, etc.

Apart from the usual Christmas hype, which is just about bearable, this December has been unusually horrible and depressing thanks to the weather and family illnesses and bereavements, so I'm not going to pronounce on this as a typical one. Just a question of getting into the better weather and proper social/cultural activities resuming.

Hate it the money you have to spend the disruption it causes for my work clearing up the mess for months sometimes. False jollity all the pressure to be nice to people you despise. I'd it wasn't for my mother I would stay away from it entirely.
