The shame is, that the old laws we used to have still exist in some countries.

What he did helped a lot in the second world war and helped in modern day computing. He got thanked by being chemically castrated by the authorities for being gay.

A giant amongst men and a hero who probably helped save millions of lives by his ingenuity and talent. I may go and sit with him in Sackville Park and enjoy the day!

"The shame is, that the old laws we used to have still exist in some countries."

More scary that countries like India and Russia are virtually reinstating them!

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

"The shame is, that the old laws we used to have still exist in some countries."

The awful thing is that colonialism took these laws to these countries and now the colonial laws are being revived.

I think Alan Turing was an amazing intelligent and complex man. However, his pardon should have been accompanied by a pardon for all men imprisoned for being gay. Without that it singles out one man and his gayness is no more worthy than anyone else's.
