We've all heard this saying, but what examples can you suggest and why?

Mine is Bullseye. A pedestrian 3 round quiz, unimaginative questions, naff prizes and an incompetent host who could be guarantied to say 'super, smashing, great, BFH'

YET

taken all together it was brilliant. And all for the throw of a dart.

Ha yes, you just beat me to that one.

I used to watch it late at night and always thought it was a comedy classic.

Going back a bit further but also from Australia, who remembers Spyforce and Boney? they were pretty awful as well.
