on the back of the m&s thread ..employers will accomodate people who cant do their jobs for religeous reasons ..it begs the question ..why apply to work in a food hall ..i applied to the british military and never got accepted because i never weighed the minimum requirement but i passed every test they presented me with ..do organisations start having to pander to the masses or can they still be selective ?

Of course they can be selective. That is what job interviews are for.

But lots of different types of work available means some companies can be selective and fit a task around a good employee.

Actually all companies are legally required to give you religious days off if you ask for them, this includes Sundays for Christians and Catholics, Friday evenings and Saturday for Jews.

They don't have to make the time up elsewhere, and it helps if you are religious, not just recovering from a hang over.
