Hubby grew up near Lockerbie and was a young teenager at the Time of the Disaster - and he also knew quite a few people in Lockerbie.. The locals had to deal with the carnage and the aftermath - But they are now getting a bit fed up with the 5 year, 10 year, 15 year, 20 year, and now 25 years anniversay.. There is already a Memorial there and the locals don't want the 5 yearly influx of press and cameras and publicity !! They have had enough IMO | |||

"locals also said on the news that they don't want everyone hearing the word Lockerbie and just thinking of the tragedy" I don't think they'll have much luck with that. Before the disaster Lockerbie was just a name on a road sign on the A74 to me. I suspect the majority wouldn't have ever heard of it. | |||
