Do you all have those days where no matter what you say or do you just seem to put your foot in it :/

Is this a man thing or just a me thing ?

Totally! My mouth is about 2 minutes ahead of my brain and I often hear a voice saying something unwise and wondering who it is, before realising it is I.

I'm quite capable of meeting a person who's just had a bereavement and asking if they kept the receipts for the Christmas presents

In a former job, one of the gaffers was complaining that she had had a bad nights sleep and I suddenly heard a honest voice saying, 'I thought you looked rough this morning.'

She was not amused. 6 months later when she became my team leader I was not amused.

I spend as much time back pedalling as I do with my foot in my mouth. The only surprise is that I have time to do or say anything else!
