Train robbery on tv

Did anyone else see part one of the great train robbery on the bbc last night?

I was a little disappointed with It and made the whole event look like a complete farce and the robbery performed by incompetent idiots. Surely this wasn't the case.

Titz Towers, North Notts

By allowing themselves to be filmed for the BBC they may not get away with it this time round either.

No, seriously, from what I've read about the original robbery it was very amateur, especially the planning for after the event.

You might be interested to know an ongoing MSN poll aimed at canvassing public opinion regards Ronnie Biggs categorically disagrees with your assessment he was a 'good'un'

I personally think he was an selfish disgusting excuse of a man….

I don't think I'll ever understand this nonsense about glorifying violent criminals.

I suggest anyone harbouring anything but contempt for the man should listen to the archive interview he gave to BBC radio 5 Live Nicky Campbell where he clearly lets it be seen that he was nothing more than low-life scum....

He was a non entity really. Not even a good criminal - or a useful one.

I think the poster of the 'good un' had his tongue firmly in his cheek

This is a song sung by the "good un" Ronnie Biggs.

God save Martin Boorman and Nazis on the run

They wasn't being wicked, God, that was their idea of fun

God save Myra Hindley, God save Ian Brady

Even though he's horrible and she ain't what you call a lady

Ronnie Biggs was doing time until he done a bunk

Now he says he's seen the light and he sold his soul for punk
