I'm really annoyed!!

My daughter mixed up the postcode number on a recent online order. Realising this as soon as the order conformation came through we tried to contact the company..

That was 6 days ago ... We sent numerous emails, phone calls (0845) and voice mail ... The company promise to reply within 48hours.

Yet still nothing!!

My only option I feel I have left is to go to the house that the parcel will be sent to and explain. Ask them to sign for it then contact me.

Would you agree to it??

Depends if they are trustworthy, I would continue with trying to contact the retailer.

Yes, as I'll be worried that I might be breaking some law and you know where I live.

How far is this house from you?

It seems a bit risky as once it's signed for you have no come back but have you tried the say no to 0845/0870 numbers and see if that comes up with a more local number?

Can you cancel the payment? That would get their attention.

It's only a couple of miles away... Yes I've tried the number but there is only the one I have.

I would do both.. Take some I D with you with your address on to prove the mistake you made and the email confirmation and have a chat with them. Meanwhile try ringing them again xxx

That post code will not relate to your actual address so at the sorting office they will pick up on that, and hopefully go by your house number and street name etc

Good luck

Also forgot to mention, usually a post code normally covers up to 12 or so addresses usually in a block. Mind you my last post code covered the whole of my small newly built estate of about 60 separate addresses

Did you enter your full address? Hopefully the delivery people have their heads screwed on to see that the post code is wrong and deliver to the address that was put in...

Is there the same street name at the wrong postcode place? Hopefully the postie won't be able to deliver it if there's no such street. Maybe contact the post office and give them a heads up.

Phone the credit card company and cancel the payment, it's not too late.

You have payment protection on a credit card. It's even better than debit card as it has insurance.

The company and credit card company are jointly liable.

Your going to have to google the post code where the parcel went, obviously, but don't fancy your chances, if it wasn't signed for! Also it's a little dodgy if your going to an unknown address.. Alone do you want fanny to go with you?
