The point I was making was that the show is about votes from the general public, it isn't about possible careers or longevity. So the ones that should have been in the final were because they got the most votes."And that's the problem I have with the show. It should be about finding someone who has everything it takes to have a career ( like it did with Leona and Will Young). I know that nobody can control how the public votes, but I think it makes it all a bit pointless because I think a lot of people get defensive about certain contestants - there was a lot of press about Michelle being "too fat" or Sam being "too old" despite then having good voices, so they vote for them to prove a point. But when it comes down to it, those people are then not interested in buying their music. Really I should stop watching as it only ever annoys me... yet I cant seem to turn it off! | |||

Maybe you think like the other poster and that we are all stupid so wouldn't notice "actually, no. i have no problem with people watching it. my ex used to pore over it every saturday, then watchthe thing on itv2 also. my parents watch that dancing thing on the other side too. i dont think i have actually insulted the viewing public, much more the industry and what the program itself promotes and the damage it does to the music industry/up and coming talents that dont get a look in. its a fact that for the audition stages, they purposely overlook a lot of good singers in favour of the 'freak show' acts, just to keep people interested, even though, those that actually watch the program for the entire 10 week or whatever, run, would rather see 1000 great singers and make their minds up, than 200 decent ones, and 800 people that sing like amputees (cant hold a note and carry a tune at the same time) it the producers that treat the viewers like idiots, not the other idiots that prefer to do something else lol | |||

I dont like Strictly, its not for me, I have nothing for that show, I even think that Claudia Winkleman is pig ugly and looks like a Mii charachter off the Nintendo Wii - however, like The Voice and X-Factor it attracts millions in viewers alone, so it cant be shit.
over 63 million people live in Britain, only 8.5 million watched the final. More people don't watch it then do. Only 13.5% of the population bothered to watch it. Using them stat's I'm going to say its shit

I'll argue with you all day, YOU DONT LIKE IT. 8.5M people do, now my mate works down the Pub on the weekend nights so I know he can't watch it. My Big Sister watches strictly which often clashes and my other sister dosent get a look in as the bro in law will be watching spanish footy on sky. But I'd like to know the other peoples excuses, not all of them will be 'because I dont like it'

If it takes one shitty ruffneck from the streets and gets them to channel their shitty behaviour into something good then superb. Other than making people rich this is another way it can improve peoples lives.
The 4 judges got on this year and no water was thrown and no one walked off, an improvement and something I always felt was fake"It may improve a couple of peoples lives for the better yea but no more then a hand full. The winner gets a contract musicians would kill for and 1 or 2 of the runner ups may get a deal or do tv appearances, but it doesn't improve lots of lives (not including the judges, ITV or its management who make shit loads (shit loads is just an estimate into what that make)) | |||

X factor is Produced pop for kids . I've watched it a few times and it's pretty clear that everything that is sung and said is scripted and made over-dramatic.

Ryland - Shit singer, great personality, has done well on the back end of it. He's a good example. All 12 finalists this year will be going on tour, the tour will sell out I imagine.
