He's a shoe in now that he's won Wimbledon. Prior to that, he could have won everything else, saved earth from alien invasion, helped countless OAP's across the road, but all for nothing. Only Wimbledon counts over here,

if he does win, very worthy. The documentary that was done about him recently was really good. I don't like the "no personality" comments myself, he's a sportsman who aims for results not chat show sofa time

It would be an oxymoron if he won.

His achievements are awesome but I wonder how much has been at the cost of him enjoying life.

I want my children to be inspired by people that love their sport and that clearly enjoy performing.

I just think he is very focused on his training and chooses not to do many interviews.

Anyone who has seen either of the two episodes of Mock The Week where he is in the audience and gets a merciless ribbing knows that he has a great sense of humour. Oh and there was also the charity doubles match at Queens when he celebrated whacking the ball at his coach!

I hate that he gets slated for being miserable. I suspect anyone who as a child had numerous schoolmates killed by a friend of his parents may have a very different perspective on life to the majority of us.

Hope he wins it, it's an award that despite the name celebrates success not personality and he deserves it.

Isn't this one of those events, like the Oscars, which, if you win and can't be there, they send someone out to you with the trophy and a camera crew?

Maybe Murray knows he's won (or hasn't won) and thought - ****it, why bother.
