Ch4 has a programme on psychopaths tonight.

I read some risk management research a few years ago that showed that many of the attributes of pyschopathy are the same as those for being a top flight business leader.

I'm watching to learn to spot the signs.

yes I heard that as well. They say people that work in the stock market have sociopathic tendencies

It does seem that some professions attract certain personality types which then skew the average figures for that industry/profession.

Charles Albright talking about stuffing a dead bird with his mother was very charming. Then the cutaway to him reading the name of the programme was a bit chilling. You can do anything with an edit though.

I am pleased to report I scored 55% and not a psychopath. I am pragmatic and no pushover and described as everything in moderation, including moderation.

Though your conscience is in the right place you also have a pragmatic streak and generally aren’t afraid to do your own dirty work! You’re no shrinking violet - but no daredevil either. You generally have little trouble seeing things from another person’s perspective but, at the same time, are no pushover. ‘Everything in moderation – including moderation’ might sum up your approach to life.

It's interesting that film hasn't presented a female psychopath in this top 10.

Heath Ledger as the Joker is not a surprise but then I wasn't surprised with James Bond either.

When he was a small child a friend's son identified James Bond as "not a nice man. He LIKES killing people and he is not nice to the girls he kisses. I don't think he would be a good daddy." Out of the mouths of babes. I started to view Bond differently from that day.

I thought the programme was very poor. It almost completely ignored relationship psychopaths and the traits of promiscuity, impetuousness especially with money, idealisation and at the end, demean and discard.

Robert hare was in it briefly. His website lists the traits

You are warm and empathic with a heightened awareness of social responsibility and a strong sense of conscience. You like to carefully weigh up the pros and cons of a situation before you act and are generally averse to taking risks. You are very much a ‘people person’ and dislike conflict. ‘Do unto others…’ are your watchwords. But, although you avoid hurting others, those residing at the higher end of the psychopathic spectrum might not be as considerate, so stay vigilant to avoid being hurt unnecessarily.

Actually there's a school of thought that says psychopaths won't be worried about who they are. So they will answer honestly and say what they are.

The lack of conscience and empathy may also explain that there could be more than the average number on here
