Two students have been injured in a school shooting in Colorado, the Arapahoe County sheriff has said.

A student believed to be the gunman who brought a shotgun into the school has been found dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, he said.

The sheriff said the gunman was looking for a specific teacher, who left the building. A student confronted the gunman and was shot.

It is unclear how the other student received a minor injury.

The school and others in the area were placed on lockdown but Arapahoe County Sheriff Grayson Robinson indicated the threat had ended.

Even if they did ban them, there's that many of them in the country that they would never put a dent in the numbers of guns owned.

I saw a report recently about the anniversary of Sandy Hook and the public outrage afterwards that was followed by a govt promise for prompt action.

I think it said there had been 30.000 (think that was the number) gun-related deaths since then and no meaningful gun reform....
