sin4all try pushing ctrl button and hold that down while pressing the + button (next to delete) and it should make the writing bigger

TRY A SYSTEM RESTORE

OR THE TEMP FIX KITTY SUGGESTED, HOLD IN CTRL KEY AND USE SCROLL WHEEL ON MOUSE OR PLUS AND MINUS KEYS TO CHANGE TEXT SIZE

Problem solved - the cat had been walking on the keyboard lol

It will not happen again as I have just boiled the cat for lunch lol
