My friend's daughter lived in Japan for a couple of years whilst getting her Masters - she is fluent in Japanese. Apparently, it is not always so safe as a lone female there and you can get a lot of seriously unwanted attention.

Have just done some reading and legally it is up to the individual if they want to comply with the woman only rule. So effectively womem only carriages are open to anyone to use

I’d agree with that statement if crossdressing was simply about having a clothes fetish such as I have…..

However I acknowledge there are some women who find themselves trapped since birth in a man’s body and for them female clothes is their natural choice and therefore not crossdressing,,….

I don't understand the trapped in another body thing. Not saying if it's 'real' or not - just that I can't understand or relate to it. So for me if you have a penis, you're a man.

Fair-play to you.... I can understand your point of view.....and like yourself I can't relate to what it must be like trapped in the wrong body, but I do accept that condition does exist so I'm willing to accept those people in the gender of their choosing...

Cross dressing. It's just clothes. If a guy wants to wear a dress, so what? Whatever reason he chooses to do that is his business.

Funny how cross-dressing women is not frowned on. As if to say that looking like a woman makes you somehow less of a person.

People are people - the adornments they put on their bodies is their business and not as relevant as the identity they feel comfortable with.

I don't suggest anything with regard to how they check or whether or not they should have women only environments. I don't live there and know nothing as to their reasoning.

If you google trains in japan youl see how ridiculously packed they are, station employees work pushing the customers on the trains and trying to ram the doors shut. You are completely and utterly squashed in bodies against bodies. There is a culture of men feeling up women on the trains in this environment. ..happened to me! This is why they brought in women only carriages. There are station police in lots of the busy stations to target the gropers.

The sexual fantasy of feeling a woman up on a train is that popular theres even a sex club set up with a train carriage inside and prostitutes stand inside pretending to be travelling on the train for the male customers to feel up.

Surprisingly its one of the safest countries in the world to live in despite the train gropings. Any non japanese person gets loads of attention because for so many years japan has not let foreigners in...I think its only about 5% of the population are non Japanese. So you do get stared at loads and school girls giggling at you, people wanting to take your picture etc. But its a very respectful country....despite the train gropings! In someremote places the only white females wil be women who work in hostess bars. I once got aapproached by a guy asking for sex.....I replied something along the lines of no! Youre very rude and disrespectful, he then bowed about 3 times saying how sorry he was and ran away!
