"Why have women only carriages? " My friend's daughter lived in Japan for a couple of years whilst getting her Masters - she is fluent in Japanese. Apparently, it is not always so safe as a lone female there and you can get a lot of seriously unwanted attention.

"I know sexually it's a blur but otherwise I think a man dressed in any clothes is a man." I’d agree with that statement if crossdressing was simply about having a clothes fetish such as I have….. However I acknowledge there are some women who find themselves trapped since birth in a man’s body and for them female clothes is their natural choice and therefore not crossdressing,,….

Fair-play to you.... I can understand your point of view.....and like yourself I can't relate to what it must be like trapped in the wrong body, but I do accept that condition does exist so I'm willing to accept those people in the gender of their choosing...

"Clothes don't alter a persons sex - kind of my point. There are plenty of cultures where men dress similarly to what we'd consider as feminine. It's not so long ago that boys in this country looked like little girls by how they were dressed." I agree clothes don’t alter a persons gender.....

But if this person was dressed as a woman without knowing more facts who is anyone to say he is not a woman. Bringing it back to woman only carriages, what would you suggest? Employing people to check the goods if someone appeared too masculine to be female?

I don't suggest anything with regard to how they check or whether or not they should have women only environments. I don't live there and know nothing as to their reasoning.

"Why have women only carriages? My friend's daughter lived in Japan for a couple of years whilst getting her Masters - she is fluent in Japanese. Apparently, it is not always so safe as a lone female there and you can get a lot of seriously unwanted attention." Surprisingly its one of the safest countries in the world to live in despite the train gropings. Any non japanese person gets loads of attention because for so many years japan has not let foreigners in...I think its only about 5% of the population are non Japanese. So you do get stared at loads and school girls giggling at you, people wanting to take your picture etc. But its a very respectful country....despite the train gropings! In someremote places the only white females wil be women who work in hostess bars. I once got aapproached by a guy asking for sex.....I replied something along the lines of no! Youre very rude and disrespectful, he then bowed about 3 times saying how sorry he was and ran away!
