It has just been announced that Australia has overturned the progressive legislation that recoginised the right of marriage of same sex couples, only a matter of hours after India.

Personally, as a straight guy who is proud to be the loving friend of my cousin and his civil partner, I see this as a sad day.

To be honest, I don't know what kind of response I'm expecting but I thought I'd let you know what's just been announced and how sad I am to hear it - let's hope enough people raise their voices to make both the Indian and Australian governments see sense and recognise the right of all human beings to follow their hearts.

PS. my apologies for my misspelling in the title of this thread - Australia- I've had two bottles of Shiraz, am trying to use my thumbs on an iphone and I'm feeling a tad emotional.
